According to Tinubu, in a statement, “Through fasting, Muslims experience hunger and thirst and sympathize with those in the world who have little to eat and drink every day. Ramadan teaches us to be charitable.

“Ramadan lays emphasis on renewing our faith in God and placing a high premium on human life, love for our country, love for our neighbour, and sharing. It teaches us to reach out to the less privileged in society and do everything to make them comfortable.

“This is why as a group, we have decided to launch the Food Bank in furtherance of our firm trust that the incoming administration of the President-Elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the Vice President-Elect, Senator Kashim Shettimawill work from day one on May 29, 2023, for the progress of our dear country.

“We also know that the Lagos State Governor, Mr BabajideOlusola Sanwo-Olu, and all elected public officers of APC are ready to continue to do more for the people,” Tinubu said.
