INEC registers 573 new voters in the first month

No fewer than 573 new voters have registered and received their Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVC ) from the National Electoral Commission (INEC) since the commencement of the exercise in the Oshodi-Isolo Local Government Area.
As gathered by ECHONEWS, the number was recorded within four weeks.
In the first week, 107 people were registered from Monday to Friday beginning with 15 on Monday, 28 on Tuesday and, 23,20,21 on the other days.
In the second week, 160 new voters were. registered with daily records from Monday beginning with 25 on Monday and 30, 35,30,40 on other days.
The Commission recorded 165 in the third week in series of 30, 32,40, 39,24 on daily basis, while it got the lowest number in the fourth week with the total number of 141. Their daily record of 30, 25, 35, 29, 22 from Monday to Friday.
The total number includes new PVC registration, relocation issues, defaced PVCs missing PVCs, Omission cases and information update on names.
There were cases of 12 missing PCVs throughout the four weeks in the sequence of 6, 1, 2 and 3 weekly.
For information updates on PVC such as change of name, INEC officials explained that affidavits or print publication must be presented as evidence.
However, they complained that network fluctuation has been the major challenge, slowing down the speed of the exercise.
