Let there be light again, Ajibulu residents plead
By Edith Igbokwe

The residents of Ajibulu Street in Mafoluku, Oshodi have appealed to the chairman of Oshodi-Isolo Local Government Area (LGA), Otunba Kehinde Oloyede (Kendoo) to restore streetlights in the community by fixing the faulty generator.
According to them, the streetlights, installed by the local government, have failed for almost a year due to the faulty generator and rendered the community insecure.
They said the darkness that occurs at night is giving the hoodlums to perpetrate their nefarious activities at night.
Speaking to ECHONEWS on behalf of the community, the Secretary of Raimi Olowora/Eweje Community Development Association (CDA), Lawal Ekundayo, said the only challenge is the faulty generator used to power the streetlights.
“It is close to a year now that the generator powering the streetlights has stopped working. If not done now the generator may soon disappear. The local government is responsible because the project was done by the local government.
“We had reported the issue to the former council chairman but nothing was done before he left office. We are now appealing to the new chairman, Otunba Kehinde Almaroof Oloyede, to come to our aid. We want the local government to come and restore the streetlights because it helps the security of our area to function better and also to prevent the generator from being stolen or damaged if neglected for too long.”
