Baiyewu, councils commission boss, commends Obe

The Chairman of the Lagos State Local Government Service Commission, Hon. Kamal Baiyewu, has commended Ejigbo Local Council Development Area for a job well done.

 

This came up during the first leg of the Bi-annual Monitoring Visit to the LCDA for the year 2021, by the LGSC Chairman and his team. The visit was aimed at seeing what the Executive Chairman has done, what is yet to be done and knowing how the staffs are being treated.

 

During the interaction, the team was informed by the Head of Administration, Princess Iyabode Ogunyemi, about the non-interest loan which is given to staffs; the official cars which was purchased and given to each member of the Legislative, Executive and Management Team; the Construction of new office building for the Legislators and Account officers; Creation of Creche, Vocational Centres, Marriage Registry, LASSRA Registration office, e.t.c at the Multipurpose Building located at Otasunmi Street, Ejigbo. Also, the monthly purchase of drugs to the Staff Clinic, financial assistance given to staffs for medical reasons, and so on.

 

In his speech, the LGSC Chairman commended the Alh. (Hon.) Monsurudeen Oloyede Bello -led government for a job well done. He described the Council as “not bogus but attractive”. He then advised the Council to work on her Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) by expanding it’s base, doing a SWOT analysis and building on it, so as to have more capital to carry out projects.

 

Relaying the message of the Head of Service, the LGSC Permanent Secretary (P.S), Mrs. Mobolaji Mojisola Daba, advised all staff to be professional in their job. This is as regards knowing their jobs well, being diligent and ethical, dressing appropriately, attendance, punctuality and productivity at work, etc.

 

On his part, the P.S Local Government Establishment, Training and Pension (LGETP), Mr. Abiodun Bamgboye, advised the Council and staffs to build on themselves and improve on service delivery, as this is a knowledge-driven age and the Civil Service should not be left behind.

 

While interacting with the visiting team, the Ejigbo Council Chairman appreciated them for taking out time to visit the LCDA. He identified Ejigbo as a traditional environment where people were not used to paying taxes. But with a strength of large population, the IGR is being generated and more efforts will be put into it.

 

The Monitoring Team from the LGSC includes: the LGSC Chairman (Badagry Division), Hon. Kamal Baiyewu; the Commissioner I (Ikorodu Division), Hon. Biodun Orekoya; the Commissioner II (Epe Division), Hon. Ahmed Seriki; the Commissioner III (Lagos Division), Hon. Akeem Bamgbola; the Commissioner IV (Ikeja Division), Hon. Taofeek Adaranijo; the P.S LGSC, Mrs. Mobolaji Mojisola Daba; P.S LGETP, Mr. Abiodun Bamgboye and seven others.
