The Legislative arm of Ejigbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA) led by Hon. Olanrewaju Akinbowale (Larry) has disclosed its plan to have public hearings on all the bills before passing them into byelaws.

Akinbowale, who made this known to ECHONEWS, said the House would make sure all the bills on their table are passed into law before the expiration of their tenure thus year.

He added that the fourth legislative arm of the council under his leadership would also make sure all the byelaws are documented in a booklet format and presented as a constitution of the local council.

The council leader said they have delayed their resumption for the new year due to the outbreak of the second wave of Covid-19 following a circular from the Lagos State Government that civil servants and political office holders should go to work twice in a month as a measure to curb the rising cases of Covid-19.

“Due to the circular sent by the Lagos State Government for workers and political office holders to go to work twice in a month, the council legislative arm has not yet resumed fully for activities to go on.

“We’ll soon resume and commence our work. We have planned to have public hearings to gather the views of the communty stakeholders on some of the bills we plan to pass into law.

“We had the public hearing last year, we are going to hold more this year and make sure we have a codified law booklet for the council. We are giing to start that as soon as we resume.”
