No fewer than 80 barbers and cosmetologists who are members of Lagos State Barbers, Hairdressers and Cosmetologists Association (LABHCA) in Oshodi-Isolo LGA have applied for the sterilising kits provided by Lagos State AIDS Control Agency (LSACA) to enhance HIV/AIDS as well as COVID-19 prevention control while rendering services.
Explaining the procedure for application, the LASBA chairman in Oshodi, Mr. Jamiu Ayinla, said each branch of the association across Oshodi-Isolo LGA was asked to submit the list of its members to LSACA to ascertain the number of members..
He said one of the requirements for barbers to qualify for the kits is possession of valid identity card of LASBA which is renewable yearly with N1,000.
He said the distribution of the kits would commence as soon as the lists of the members have been compiled and verified, adding that the equipment would be distributed in batches.
He therefore appealed to the members to always observe government directives as measures to curb spread of coronavirus by placing hand wash sink and sanitizer at the entrance of their shops regularly and wearing face masks while working.
