Unity CDA plans to raise funds to support Alake pry school

Excited by the re-opening of Oladele Alake Primary School, residents in the neighbourhood, acting under the auspices of the Unity Development Association have resolved to hold a fundraising to raise funds for security and teaching vacancies.

 

At their meeting hosted by Pa Akintuoye in his home, the executives of Unity CDA commended the local government chairman, Hon. Monsuru Bello Obe for promising to supply a security man to watch over the school.

 

However, they felt that one security man may get tired, hence the need for another to enable both operate shifts.

They also reviewed the report of a meeting with the the chairman of the Local Government Education Authority, Mr. femi Ogunwusi over the need for more teachers to teach the over 451 pupils in the school.

 

Noting that the LGEA chairman advised them to engage auxilliary teachers pending the employment of more teachers to the school by the state government, the CDA resolved to raise funds for the recruitment of auxilliary teachers and the payment of their salaries.

 

Encouraging the CDA Executive, former Commissioner for Information & Strategy, Mr. Kehinde Bamigbetan promise to support the CDA to achieve the objective.

 

Going down memory lane, Bamigbetan, whose administration built the school in 2014, said the goal was to ensure that each of the six wards in Ejigbo Local Council Development Area had a public primary school to reduce the distance kids have to trek to school and the amount parents had to pay for children’s education,

 

He praised the administration Hon Obe for supporting the school and thanked the leadership of the State Universal Basic Education Board under Dr. Sopeyin and Hon. Alawiye King for starting and completing the rebuilding of the school.
