No fewer than 5,000 residents will benefit as the Oshodi-Isolo local government chairman, Otunba Kehinde Almaroof Oloyede is set for a mega empowerment programme.

The council chairman, who since the assumption of office, has continued to hit the ground running in providing basic infrastructure for the residents, will continue the giant strides by providing tools to residents to make them earn a living and be self reliant.

The administration has also held different skills acquisition programmes for youths and women within the local government.

In his relentless effort, the council boss disclosed that his administration will, in May this year, hold a mega empowerment programme for residents within the council.

The empowerment, Oloyede said is a way of ameliorating the economic challenges residents of the local government are facing, thereby taking the less privileged out of poverty.

He said in ensuring even distribution of the mega empowerment items, groups such as Community Development Committee, Artisans, youths, ethnic groups, religious bodies such as the league of Imams and Alfas and the Christian association of Nigeria, amongst others will benefit massively.

The council honcho further said empowerment tools such as deep freezers, generators, tricycles (Kẹkẹ Marwa), motorcycles (okada), grinding machines, makeup boxes, POS machines, Sewing machines, Hair dryers, barbing tools, and gas cookers among others will be distributed to the residents.

The council boss also assured that his administration will continue to give back to society to make it a better place for all, as that is the purpose of him being elected chairman.

You will recall that just last December, the council boss held an empowerment program for youths and women who were trained at the council’s UNDP centre on various skills such as tailoring, household chemicals, makeup, and hairdressing, among others, and were at the end of the training presented empowerment tools.
