The Chairman of Ikosi-Ejinrin Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Akogun Wale Raji Anomo, held a strategic meeting with the members of the Federation of Ikosi-Ejinrin Students’ Association (FIKESA) at the LCDA Secretariat, Agbowa.
Building on the success of the first phase of the bursary program held in February where 50 Indigent students received #50,000, Anomo reaffirmed his commitment towards supporting indigent undergraduates, revealing that the second phase will see 50 new beneficiaries from across the LCDA’s six wards receive ₦50,000 each also.
The Council Chairman emphasized that the bursary program is entirely free, urging FIKESA leaders to ensure that no fees are charged to applicants. The program’s administration overseen by the Bursary Committee, chaired by Otunba Shittu Aliu Idowu, ensuring transparency and efficiency in disbursement.
FIKESA President, Comrade Bello Gafar, expresses heartfelt appreciation on behalf of the student community, commends the Chairman’s consistency in delivering on his promises.
“The Chairman’s selfless leadership has transformed the opportunities available to many students,” Gafar stated, highlights the profound impact the bursary has had on students’ lives.”
A previous beneficiary of the bursary, Olawunmi Lutfah, shares her experience that the Bursary has made huge impact in her educational pursuit.
“The support made a huge difference in my ability to finish my studies without financial stress as it was used for my final year Project. Akogun Anomo provided a lifeline for many of us when we least expected.”
