Echonews Newspapers Limited Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Kehinde Bamigbetan described the news as a “positive development”
“It confirms the viability of our multi-media strategy. Although we shall probe the demographics further, it is probable to say that that most of the visitors are Nigerians who are eager to know what is happening at home. Besides, community journalism is the mainstream in the US, they can relate to Echonews as they relate to The Washington Post or New York Times.”
Bamigbetan, who is a former Commissioner for Information & Strategy in Lagos State, said he seeks to use the Echonews community newspaper project to demonstrate that for the media to serve the people effectively, it must be local.
He assured Echonews online visitors that more tools for reporting news will be added soon to increase traffic.
