Woman arraigned for luring teenager into prostitution

A 32-year old woman has been charged to the Magistrate Court in Ejigbo for facilitating a move for a 16-year old girl to involve in prostitution.

The defendant, Emmanuella Ozuabi, a resident of Bucknor Estate, Ejigbo was tried on a one-count charge of aiding and abating the teenager, who according to the Police Prosecutor, Inspector G. Simon, made the approach to be introduced into prostitution.

Inspection Simon told the court that the parents of the anonymous teenager had earlier reported the missing of the 16 years old girl at the Ejigbo Police Division, which prompted the police to swiftly into action to help fetch her back.

The Prosecutor said that the police were able to trace the teenager to a hotel in Ejigbo for prostitution where Ozuabi and the teenager were arrested and taken to the station for interrogation.

During prosecution, the accused admitted introducing the girl into prostitution but stated that she did that with the consent of her.

At the Ejigbo Magistrates Court where the defendant was arraigned on the orders of the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Imohimi Edgal, Magistrate Kayode Layeni granted the suspect bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.

The matter was adjourned till February 27, 2019.
