Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke has stated that his Government will continue to invest in Sports development to empower the youths.
Speaking on Sunday, during the final of the third edition of Otunba Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke Memorial Football Championship, initiated by Rep Bamidele Salam. The charismatic Governor said the relevance of Sports to social development can’t be over-emphasised.
The former Osun West Senator also thanked the Initiator of the Otunba Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke Memorial Football Championship, saying the Competition has helped in immortalizing his late brother, who was the first Civilian Governor of Osun State.
“We will continue to do more in the area of Sports. We won’t relent in our commitment to use Sports as a tool to empower the youths in Osun State.
“As part of the plan, the Government will refurbish the Osogbo City Stadium to international standard inorder to improve Sports in the state.
The third edition of the Otunba Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke Memorial Football Championship was won by Egbedore United, who defeated Osun FA, 8-7 via penalties, after playing a goalless 90 minutes.
