WAFA League: Future Stars 99 crush Clever Stars 5-1

Future Stars 99 thrashed Clever Stars FC 5-1 to start their campaign in the WAFA League on a great note.

The match was played at Ighalo Asttroturf stadium, Ajegunle I the presence of executives of WAFA led by its president, prince Ganiyu Adetunji and the LOC chairman, Babatunde Balogun.

A brace from towering striker, Chidera Isiah and a goal each from the trio of Suliat Busari, Azeezat Obadun and Kehinde Eniola secured the win for Future Stars 99.

Future Stars broke the deadlock through Chidera Isiah who lashed onto a set piece, controlled the ball successfully and finished past the opponent goalie.

Eniola Kehinde doubled Future Stars 99 lead with a curling effort from the edge of the 18 meter box.

Asiata Isiaka pulled a goal back for Clever Stars through a great free kick in the 17th minute to give her side a glimpse of hope in the game.

Clever Stars applied pressure late in the first half to equalize but they squandered away the chances that came their way.

Chidera Isiah grabbed a brace in the game as she nod in a corner kick to extend the lead of Future Stars 99 3-1.

Chidera Isiah threw away a big chance to get a hat trick in the game, leaving only the goalkeeper to beat, she sent her effort wide off the goal post.

Suliat Busari scored a magnificent set piece to record a 4-1 lead to Future Stars 99.

Azeezat Obadun wrapped up the victory for Future Stars 99 with a dazzling run and great finish past the opponent goalkeeper 5-1.
