Two Arraigned For Theft Of Pumping Machine

Two suspects have been arraigned in court for alledgedly stealing pumping machine.
The duo – Aderogba Badejo and Julius Emmanuel were also accused damaging items in Ikorodu area of Lagos.
The Police Prosecutor, Inspector Ahmed Sanni, stated during the defendant’s trial at the Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court that the offences were commited at Ibudo Isinmi Street, Ire Akindana in Shelewu area, Igbogbo in Ikorodu.
Sanni uttered that Badejo and Emmanuel both 25-years-old, on January 24 at about 3p.m stole one submersive pumping machine worth N270,000 and unlawfully damaged seven pipes valued at N150,000, all properties belonging to the complainant – one Nelson Omike.
The Prosecutor submitted that residents in the area apprehended the suspects while they were trying to sell the stolen item and informed the complainant who reported the matter to the police.
Sanni added that the litigants are on a three-count charge of conspiracy to wit felony, wilful damage and stealing, hence, contravening Sections 411, 350 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
They pleaded not guilty.
The court granted the defendants bail in the sum of N100,000 each, with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case to February 13.
