Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh has opened up about her long-term battle with smoking and other personal struggles, revealing that she started smoking at the age of 13 and battled the addiction for 27 years.
Speaking during a Sunday service at Streams of Joy International Church, Dikeh shared that she also struggled with alcohol addiction, masturbation, and prolonged anger issues. She described these struggles as “demonic oppression” and attributed her eventual freedom to divine intervention, noting that her life began to change as her spiritual journey strengthened.
“I smoked since I was 13. God healed me from masturbation, too. I have known myself to have sexual intercourse in the dream ever since I was a child,” the actress disclosed.
Dikeh explained that her smoking habit was influenced by her father, who was also a smoker, and she urged parents to be mindful of the habits children are exposed to.
The 40-year-old further revealed that she recently received divine healing from what she described as “demonic anger,” which previously affected her relationships and personal life.
Following her testimony, Pastor Jerry Eze, founder of Streams of Joy International Church, prayed for the actress, declaring that “the burden of sin is broken” and describing her as “a voice in her generation.”
