Protect Your Environment, Egunjobi Tells Residents

Kehinde Adeleye The Chairman Agege Local Government Ganiyu Kola Ewejobi(JP) over the weekend has charged community members with protecting the environment.   Egunjobi expressed concern during the meeting about the environmental threat posed by traders on drainages, unnecessary road obstruction caused by commercial buses, illegal roadside mechanics, open dedication on railroad tracks, and illegal dumping of trash on roadsides at Awori, Pen-cinema inward Ijaiye road, among other locations. The council chairman made a point of emphasizing his administration’s dedication to keeping the council district free of pollutants to prevent disasters. The council chairman established an environmental task team to confront the threat within three days. Stakeholders from the Hausa community, community development council, NURTW, market leaders, security agencies and outfits, and other groups were present. Echonews correspondent reports that the local government council has embarked on the removal of drainage, clogs, and evacuation of slit across the council area.
