Road Collapse: Ikotun Residents Raise Alarm
A part of Ikotun-Ejigbo Road has collapsed, creating a big gully right in front of Ikotun popular market.
Eye witnesses told Echonews that the road collapsed during the heavy rains a few days ago.
While calling on the state government to come to their rescue before the road will cut into two, motorists have since boycotted the damaged part and taken to one way.
The situation had led to heavy traffic along the axis.
Our correspondent who visited the place observed that the caved part might extend further if government fails to repair it quickly.
A market woman who simply identified herself as Sade called on the government to come to the rescue of road users and residents of Ikotun.
“Our government should come and help us. This is a major road that has just collapsed,” she said.
