Residents of Joforo community in Badagry West LCDA have condemned the incessant invasion of their community by officers of the Nigeria Customs Service.
They claimed that the invasion of their community has been a threat to lives and properties as residents experience gun fire during the exercise.
The residents said they were encountering such invasion for the third term, which has continued to affect them.
According to them, at the last invasion, five persons were affected by the stray bullets and collapsed building shut down by men of the Nigeria Customs who are presently receiving treatment in Hospitals in Joforo community.
The Youth Leader of the community, Mr Julius said the driver of the Hilux vehicle brought by the Customs officers hit him to the wall with the car which affected his leg and arm.
He said their incessant raid is causing an uproar in the community as people are beginning to be cautious of when to leave home and when not to while describing the act as unprofessional as a trained official.
One of the victims, Mr. Ebenezer Wusu, who is a fisherman said he was on his way to the sea to catch some fish when the bullet hit him on the leg.
Another victim who is a carpenter said he heard people shouting thief and decided to come out, but later noticed it was the customs officers and that he was injured in the process due to a gunshot.
Meanwhile, the chairman of Badagry West LCDA, Hon. Joseph Gbenu, said he has started discussing with the Controller of Customs, Seme, Comptroller Dera Nandi, on how best to curb the unfortunate incident.
