Residents commend LAGESC for curbing roadside, street trading in Ejigbo
By Felix Kuyinu
The residents of Ejigbo LCDA have given a good remark to the workers of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (LAGESC) in their efforts to curb the rising business activities along roadsides and streets, which have been hampering free movement in some major areas within the community.
The residents had complained that the affected roads have been turned into market places particularly at night, disturbing motorists and pedestrians from having a smooth flow of plying the roads for their daily activities.
Other disaster that could result from the ‘unscrupulous act’ according to the residents include motor accident, which could claim lives and bad presentation of the roads in the area.
However, the residents affirmed that since the involvement of LAGESC in the matter, there has been a reasonable reduction in the roadside and street trading, stating that with more efforts put together by the Corps members, there would be more success stories.
They disclosed that roadside business activities are still noticeable with in some areas within the community, charging LAGESC to go into all roads to discharge their duties.
