Paystack Co-Founder Suspended Amid Sexual Misconduct Claims

Paystack has suspended its co-founder and Chief Technology Officer, Ezra Olubi, following a sexual misconduct allegation that has gone viral online. The company confirmed on Friday that a formal internal investigation has been launched.
In a statement to TechCabal, Paystack said: “Paystack is aware of the allegations involving our Co-founder, Ezra Olubi. We take matters of this nature extremely seriously. Effective immediately, Ezra has been suspended from all duties and responsibilities pending the outcome of a formal investigation.”
The company added that it would not comment further until the investigation is complete, stating: “Out of respect for the individuals involved and to protect the integrity of the process, we will not be commenting further until the investigation is complete.”
The suspension follows the resurfacing of Olubi’s social media posts reportedly made between 2009 and 2013, which included sexualised remarks referencing coworkers and minors. One tweet from May 23, 2011, reportedly read: “Monday will be more fun with an ‘a’ in it. Touch a coworker today. Inappropriately.” Another read: “I judge my female friends by the sound their pee makes. Thanks to the audio recorder in my bathroom.”
Olubi has not publicly responded to the posts and has deactivated his X account.
Ezra Olubi was awarded the Officer of the Order of the Niger by the late former President Muhammadu Buhari. He was among 450 recipients recognised at the time, with Nigeria’s total National Honours awardees reaching 5,341 since 1963.
