The chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Olowa has urged Nigerians to feel honoured over the country’s resilience despite various challenges.

He said that not many nations of the world can survive the hurdles as they tend to merge with other nations or get conquered by powerful forces.

He praised Nigeria as a nation that has remained united, strong and virile with vast capacities of greatness in the face of national struggle.

He noted that the country’s major setback is the inability of our political system to throw up and sustain an extended spell of progressive leadership capable of parlaying the nation’s rich endowments for prosperity.

He said it is, however, gratifying that the country’s leaders can still hold on to prosperity in the face of national struggle.

Olowa further urged Nigerians to reflect on the country’s evolutionary trajectory as a nation and to recommit themselves to the patriotic values of nation-building, good governance, democracy and rule of law, especially for those in a leadership positions.
