The re-construction of the old railway line along Oshodi has been completed while April 2020 has been set for the completion of the additional two new standard ones in that axis.
The old railway line was tested between Sunday, January 19 and Tuesday, January 21, 2020 to ascertain the quality of the job done.
The test started from Oyingbo, Ijora train terminal to Ijoko station to and fro having the engineers, members of the staff and passengers on board the train.
The Foreman in charge of the construction, Mr. Hassan Abdullah, told ECHONEWS that by April this year, another two new railway lines would be ready as the company in charge of the project, Chinese Civil Engineering Construction Company (CCECC) has embarked on the construction starting from Itori in Ogun state.
According to him, the old train line was shifted from its former position to another place to accommodate the two new standard lines.
From the level of the ongoing new railway lines in Oshodi, the progress is still very much at the leveling of land terrain stage but they are making progress gradually.
Abdullah stated that the April 2020 target for completion can be visible without distraction like rain because the old railway line is out of the way to give full concentration on the two new lines.
