Ogbunna hints residents on gas safety measures

An informal trader, Chief Monday Ogbunna, has hinted residents on safety tips they ought to be familiar with while handling cooking gas.

With the pervasive rate of gas explosion in homes, Ogbunna urged users to avoid storing cylinders in lockers, saying a leakage could result to dangerous gas buildup without notice.

According to him, continuous use of water to clean the gas cylinder and other decays the metallic cylinder should be avoided as it may cause havoc uninformed.

He also advised that anybody employed to sell gas or handle gas business must be properly trained to avoid cylinder exposure to sunlight, avoid poor installation and ensure persistent inspection of equipment.
