The Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) Oshodi-Isolo branch has donated’welfare materials’ to the teachers in the local government area.
The items which include T-Shirt and nose covers were delivered to the Executive Secretary (ES), Local Government Education Authority (LGEA), Barr. Femi Ogunwusi for inward distribution to the teachers.
While delivering the items to the ES, the chairman, Comr. Salawu Kolawole, informed that the materials were given to commemorate the World Teachers’ Day last month and to also appreciate the effort that teachers have been putting into the education of students.
He said the items would have been distributed last month but were delayed by the EndSARS crisis.
Kolawole, who doubles as the chairman of the Congress of NUTs Chairmen in Lagos, said the items were provided as part of the union’s welfare programme.
He stated that apart from the other assignments expected from the union, it is also committed to the welfare of the teachers.
He commended the ES for his leadership, saying the Education District VI has been better under him.
Responding, Ogunwusi expressed his joy over the gesture, citing the mature leadership of Oshodi-Isolo NUT branch as a yardstick to be taken for a role model for others to emulate.
