The House of Representatives candidate under the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) Candidate in Kosofe Federal Constituency, Mr. Abdulwaheed Odunuga has unveiled its manifesto ahead of the 2023 general elections.
Odunuga, the National Vice President of Joint Action for Good Governance, unveiled his manifesto tagged “Agenda for Credible Representation” during a house-to-house campaign programme in his constituency .
Odunuga noted that he would be driven by the vision to uplift the constituency to a development pedestal that would make them independent, confident and self-reliance through effective and quality representation.
Odunuga who also doubles as an advocate for Anti-Corruption & Good Governance, Youth Leader and Grassroots mobilizer said that his mission, if elected would be to sponsor bills that would bring dividends of democracy to the constituency.
“I humbly offer myself as a candidate to represent the good people of Kosofe Federal Constituency at the National Assembly on the platform of the New Nigeria Peoples Party.
“My desire is borne out of my quest and determination to pursue and address positive change in the lives of our people through quality representation and people-led legislation.
“I intend to also change the narrative in Kosofe constituency by promoting equity, fairness, respect for the rule of law, and phasing out nepotism and abuse of power.
“I pledge to be the embodiment of a true representative of selflessness, responsibility, integrity, accountability, fairness, courage, hardworking and commitment to Social Justice.
“I will leave no stone unturned with special attention paid to: Education, Youth and Women Employment and Empowerment, Infrastructure and Industrial Development, Health, Sports and Social Services.”
Odunuga said the community development would be achieved through sponsoring and co-sponsoring of relevant bills and motions that would impact positively on the good people of Kosofe Federal Constituency.
The candidate stated that his manifesto would be channeled towards prudent utilization and monitoring of constituency funds for genuine, people – focused, transparent, sustainable, and verifiable projects and programmes.
He added that among others includes, facilitating gainful employment / empowerment and to have access to poverty reduction schemes of the Federal Government.
Odunuga said he would attract investments and encourage establishment of Small-Scale business concerns to utilize manpower in Kosofe Constituency.
The candidate promised to promote ICT capacity among the youths, upscaling access to technology in schools, and skill acquisition with starter – packs if elected.
He pledged to support the health care institutions and general health related campaigns.
“Forging and maintaining a positive working synergy with the youths, market women, artisans, religious organizations and community organizations.
“There will be a community development programme including market development and small credit scheme to benefit Market Women & Artisans.
“I will also establish a functional constituency office for easy access,” he said.
He, however, promised to be accessible and reachable to make the people of Kosofe proud, and represent them honestly and respectfully, to the best of his abilities.
The State Chairman of NNPP in Lagos State, Chief Adisa Falade, commended the rich content of Odunuga’s manifesto.
Falade said the party is working hard day and night in Lagos State to ensure that all the party candidates record landslide victory in 2023 general elections.
