New Ejigbo DPO seeks residents’ support on crime-free community

The newly appointed Divisional Police Officer, Ejigbo LCDA, CSP Olabisi Okuwobi has called on the residents of the community to work hand in hand with the police, enjoining them to contribute their quota in making sure there is an acceptable level of security in the area as she embarks on the task of making the community crime-free.
Addressing the members of Hotel and Entertainment Directors Association (HEDA) during their courtesy visit to welcome her to the community, Okuwobi declared that the police need the cooperation of the people of Ejigbo in combating crime, making sure the community is a peaceful habitat for all residents.
Okuwobi, an alumnus of Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), who noted that hotels have been hideouts for criminals in carrying out their nefarious acts, charged the hotel officials to liase with each other and always sensitize one another on the need to make sure there establishments ares out of reach of the criminals.
According to her, hotel directors and entertainment providers as well as other residents of Ejigbo must make conscious efforts to rid their hotels and homes of criminal elements.
She reassured that the Police would always be friend to all residents except the criminals.
“Don’t delay in calling on the police for any suspicious moves you notice,” she urged.
Okuwobi however commended the HEDA for their already embarked upon efforts in cooperating with the police, saying it is part of the struggles towards achieving a crime free environment.
“I thank you for this visit because it shows that Ejigbo is home for law abiding citizens. The law only goes against those who go against it,” she submitted.
Speaking earlier on behalf of the members of the association, the Chairman/CEO of Super Pack Hotels and Suites, Chief Emma Anijah, commended the Police for providing an atmosphere of friendliness in the community and welcomed the new DPO to her new post. He also pledged the cooperation of members of the association to see that her stay in office is crime-free.
CSP Okuwobi, in her new role, replaced Bashir Kotangora at Ejigbo Division.
