The worried mother, Mrs Rukayat Akinbode, of a 17-year-old daughter, Hameedah Akinbode, who is nowhere to be found is urging the community to assist in finding her missing daughter.
It was confirmed the girl has been declared missing since she left her home at Baale Bus-stop in Bariga, Lagos State on Sunday, October 20, 2024.
Following her disappearance, she was declared missing as she did not return home that day. According to the explanation of the concerned mother, Hameedah had mentioned she was heading to a friend’s place in Oshodi in the course of an Islamic programme in the area. At the same time, preliminary information suggests that the missing girl, Hameedah, possibly left home to attend an Islamic programme, though this remains unverified as investigations are ongoing for confirmation.
“She is my first child. She told us on Sunday morning that she was going to Oshodi to give something to a friend. She was at our mosque that morning before she left.
“When she arrived, she said she was heading to Oshodi and told her friends she would be back shortly. I have no information about the person she said sha was going to see.
“We reported the case at the Ifako police station and have also visited Area F and zone 2 headquarters,” said the mother
She appealed to anyone with relevant information and knowledge about her daughter’s whereabouts contact the police.
“I am not privy to the report, but I will find out,” Ayuba Ummah, Zone 2 commander spokesperson, said on Sunday evening that she hasn’t seen the report but she will investigate.
