A man, identified as Ibrahim Adisa, has been sentenced to 4 hours community service by Isolo Magistrate court for stealing a tricycle popularly known as Keke Marwa worth N500,000 while his alleged accomplice, Lawal Balogun was freed as he was found not guilty of the offence.
It was reported that Adisa had gone to remove a tricycle belonging to one Jamiu Yakubu wher it was parked at No6, LUTH Road, Mushin at about 3:40am.
According to the Prosecutor, Inspr Oje Uagbale, when the accused could not move the tricycle alone, he invited Lawal Balogun to help him push it to vicinity telling Balogun who was not suspicious of his action that the tricycle belonged to his friend.
On their way, they were accosted by some area boys who queried them about the tricycle and later called the phone no on it when they could not answer them properly.
The phone No luckily belonged to the owner who had been looking for his keke. The two men were eventually handled over to the police who charged them to court.
Upon investigation, it was discovered that Balogun knew nothing about the stealing and was set free.
Meanwhile, Adisa admitted that he stole the tricycle and was asked to perform 4 hours community service. He was granted bail in the sum of N100,000 with a surety with proof of tax payment by the presiding Magistrate, Hon. A. O. Teluwo.
