A young man, Imran Aminu, has been sent to 3 hour imprisonment with hard labour by Isolo Magistrate court with an option of 6 hours community service for stealing a tecno mobile phone valued n38,000 belonging to one Ramoni Ayodeji.
Ayodeji was said to have given the phone to his friend to be charged in his grandmother’s room when Aminu, who came in to welcome the grandma back from Kano, saw the phone and stole it.
Aminu became the only suspect as no any other person had come into the room beside him.
When arrested, he confessed that he truly stole the phone and that he sold it to a man at Lawanson market at the rate of N10,000.
The presiding Magistrate, Adedoye, asked the accused to return the phone to the owner, while he was given the option of 6 hours community service or 3 hours in prison with hard labour as a punishment.
