Magistate Bola Osunsanmi at the Ikeja Magistrates’ Court has docked two teenagers to a juvenile home in Oregun Lagos for allegely raping a 14-year-old girl.
The two suspects stood trial on charges of conspiracy and sexual assault.
The Magistrate refused to take their plea and ordered them to be held in remand home until July 3, for the Director of Public Prosecution’s advice.
The prosecutor, ASP Raji Akeem, during the court proceedings, told the Magistrate that the two defendants who are both students and live with their parents commited the act on May 3, at 13B, Adeola Bashiru Street, Isheri-Osun in Lagos.
Akeem stated that the victim went to the house of one of the defendants, her classmate, to borrow a notebook. He said further that the alleged offender invited his friend who lives close-by and they both raped her.
The prosecutor said the offences contravened Sections 137 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
