Artisans under the umbrellas of Nigerian Automobile Technician Association (NATA) and Nigeria Association of Hairdressers and Cosmetologists (NASHCO) who are restricted from operating their business due to social distancing order have pleaded for the permission of the government to function as they promised to abide by the government’s regulations.
The concerned artisans made the appeal during their social media (WhatsApp) meeting under the platform, Community Life Project (CLP), a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) in charge of the grassroots affairs.
During the two hours meeting, the participants deliberated on the welfare of the artisans who depend on daily sales and how to assist them to survive the lockdown effect.
Affected artisans therefore appealed to government to allow them to operate their business with a promise to abide by the regulations of keeping social distancing, wearing of nose masks and regular washing of hands with the use of sanitizer to prevent COVID -19 from spreading in the community.
The CLP Director, Oshodi-Isolo LG, Ngozi Ewerem, having listened to the complaints of the members, promised to write on their behalf to convey their requests to the federal and state governments for them to resume their business with the assurance that they would abide by government’s regulations as they have promised.
