Landlord In Court Over Alleged Disconnection Of Tenant’s Water, Electricity.

The Magistates’ Court in Ejigbo, Lagos has registered a trial case concerning a 64-year-old landlord, Samuel Famakinwa, who allegedly disconnected electricity and water supply from his tenant’s apartment.

Famakinwa, was arrainged on Wednesday facing a three-count charge bordering on breach of peace and unlawful disconnection after a complain was made by the tennant, one Bolaji Eniola.

The prosecutor, ASP Benedict Aigbokhan, told the court that the defendant committed the offences sometime in October 2023, at house number 9, Asungbolu St, Igando, Lagos.

Aigbokan said that the defendant contravened Sections 168 (1) (d), 247 and 340 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Magistrate Kofoworola Ariyo granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum and adjourned the case till March 11.
