Landlady On Trial Over Assault On Tenant’s Physically Challenged Son

A house owner, Atolagbe Mojisola, has been apprehended by the Lagos Police Command (Zone 2) over an alledged assault against her tenant’s physically challenged son in Ketu, Lagos.

Mojisola, 53, and her accomplice in the act, one Saheed Olaniyi, 44, were arraigned by the police before the Igbosere Magistrates’ Court.

ASP Francis Igbinosa, standing as the prosecutor, held that the duo, on November 28, 2023, at 23, Love All Street, Ikosi, Ketu, commited the offence against the 20-year-old victim, Oluwadamilare Dada, son to the tenant, Omobolaji Dada.

Igbinosa also said that the accused caused severe body injuries on the victim who was admitted in hospital.

According to him, the charges are punishable under Sections 173, 56(a), and 172(1) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The defendants pleaded not guilty.

The court granted each defendant bail in the sum of₦500,000 with two sureties in like sum.

The defendants were held at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre pending the fulfilment of the bail conditions.

The case was adjourned to October 29, 2024.
