The Lagos State Government Parastatals Monitoring Office has concluded its assignment at the Lagos State University and given the institution a clean bill of health with regards to the submission of staff pension records.
Officials PMO were on the University main campus, Ojo, last week to begin the two-day compilation of Manpower Statistics Exercise for staff of the university.
“Part of the mandate of PMO is to ensure the smooth running of Parastatals of government, especially in the administrative and financial guidelines.
Speaking after the conclusion of the assignment, the PMO team lead, Dr. Ogunlade Philips said, “having gone through therecords, we can say that they are clean”.
While presenting his team’s report to the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM, in the presence of other members of management and the leadership of the Bursary Department and Directorate of Internal Audit, Philips commended the institution for the job well done.
His assertion was also corroborated by Mr. Fajimi Olalekan, the Resident Officer, PMO, Governor’s Office who said that the exercise was primarily to assess the compliance rate of pension’sdeduction and remittance in the university.
The Vice Chancellor, in her response, appreciated the team for the hard work and expressed her pleasure that the University was found clean. “We are always for transparency and accountability and that is why you found our papers clean”, she said. He also assured that other areas of observation would be acted upon swiftly.
