Lagos NYCN Chairman, Adigun Disclose Reasons For Creating Directorates Committees

Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Engineer Adigun Olalekan has revealed the impact and positives that the creation of directorates committees will have on Lagos youths.

Adigun said the aim of establishing the directorates is to have a solid focused team of people that will ease the loads of work on the excos.

He believes the mandatory responsibility of the directorates is to have a great working synergy between government agencies and parastatals.

“The purpose of creating and inaugurating those directorates is to get a solid team of people that would make our work easy at the exco level.

“We have only 19 members of the Lagos NYCN executives and all of them are holding one position or the other and the essence of the directorate as enshrined in our constitution is to make work easy for the leadership of the state. The work of the directorates is to work directly with government ministries and agencies and facilitate a lot of youth projects that will beneficial to the youths in Lagos state in all sectors.”

The NYCN boss added with the new development, the youth body will be having over 30 impactful programs in a year.

“With the coming onboard of the directorates, we will be having over 30 programs for the youths to benefit from in a year. We want to carry along every necessary steakhouse in each sector and ensure those people in various demographic are well captured in all our activities. This are the reasons we have created this directorates.

“Lagos State is the ‘Japa’ destination for all youths in Nigeria, everybody wants to come to Lagos to seek greener pastures and as the mouth piece of the entire youths in Lagos, We must be able to bridge the gap and lobby for opportunities for them to be well captured for people that aren’t employed to be gainfully empowered and employed. The directorates will collaborate with ministries, government parastatals and corporate bodies.”

 

The following directorates committees were created, directorate of education and training (Adeyemo Akeem), directorate of sport recreation and social affairs (Azeez Mustapha), directorate of agriculture development (Aare Abdulfatai), directorate of health (Abdulrazak Olanrewaju), directorate of employment and job creation (Oyedeji Rasaq), directorate of environment, housing and ecology (Dauda Babatunde Ishaq), directorate of transportation matters (Oloyede Ahmed), directorate of petroleum and solid minerals (Lamidi Sheriff Babatunde), directorate of art, culture and tourism (Abdullahi Quadri Olukayode), directorate of physically challenged (Ibrahim Temitope Akinremi), directorate of gender and girl child empowerment (Blessing Omogenafe).

Others are, directorate of democratic good governance (Prince Babatunde Segun), directorate of peace, ethics and religious matters (Adebisi Oyeshakin Adam), directorate of child right, gender human trafficking (Maryjane Unaka), directorate of media and publicity (Victor Adogbajale), directorate of security, intelligence safety matters (Idris Ajala) and directorate of diaspora and foreign affairs (Quadri Adebogun).
