Lagos High Chief Donates Historical Documents To LASRAB

A High Chief in Lagos, Adebola Dosunmu, has donated historical documents to the Lagos State Records and Archives Bureau, LASRAB.

The Director General, LASRAB, Toyin Ogunlana, while receiving Dosunmu, the Akinsiku of Lagos, at the Bureau recently, stated that the donation holds is in preserving the state’s historical records for future generations.

The documents, according to the donor shares insights on hosting the Adamu Orisa Play.

Ogunlana lauded the High Chief and encouraged others to contribute valuable documents to the Bureau not only to showcase the state’s customs and traditions but also contribute to African heritage.

The DG stressed that the initiative aligns with  LASRAB’s mission to collect, preserve, and make historical records an documents available for reference.

She added that under her tenure, LASRAB has been actively engaging with stakeholders to promote the importance of record-keeping and historical preservation.

She said: “By donating these documents, Chief Dosunmu has contributed to the rich cultural heritage of Lagos, and his efforts will undoubtedly support research, education, and tourism initiatives in the state.

LASRAB’s commitment to preserving historical records will continue to benefit Lagosians and the broader community, fostering a deeper understanding of the states’ history and cultural significance.
