The Knights of St. John International will be leading dignitaries to a golf tournament at Ikoyi Club 1938 to honor Monsignor John Aniagwu, the Vicar General of the Catholic Archdiocese of Lagos, who recently turned 80.
The event, known as the Golf Kitty, will be an invitational taking place on the 18th of April 2024 at the Golf Section of the Club.
Over 100 golfers will participate in different categories including Men, Ladies, Priests, and Veterans.
Sir Emmanuel Okene, speaking on behalf of the Knights of St. John International and other sponsors, highlighted that this tournament will be a fitting celebration of Monsignor Aniagwu’s remarkable impact through his ministry.
The Golf Kitty, part of Monsignor Aniagwu’s 80th birthday celebration, is set to take place on April 18, 2024.
Barrister Azuka Ndulewe from Rising Golfers Club, a sponsor of the event, praised Aniagwu for his dedication to golf, despite his age, and highlighted his influence on younger golfers.
Monsignor Aniagwu, who holds various prestigious positions within the Catholic Archdiocese of Lagos, has been a role model for many in the golfing community.
