Just in: Residents nab teenage phone robber in Ejigbo

A teenager who stole a phone in a shop at Chemist bus stop, along Idimu road, Ejigbo this afternoon has been nabbed by a passer-by who noticed him while stealing the item.
The suspect was accosted by the passer-by while he was trying to escape from the area.
According to the eye witness, the suspect, whose name is yet to be ascertain, had entered into an egg seller’s shop where the phone was being charged at about 1:45pm, removed the phone and took it away unsuspecting by the shop owner.
he said the suspect was also unaware that someone was monitoring him around the vicinity of the shop.
In an attempt to outrun his victim, the suspect, after succeeding in stealing the phone, ran to the other side of the road where he was spotted by the eye witness at Mr. Sunday’shop.
The eye witness said he raised alarm which attracted the public and the victim and that he (the suspect) was eventually arrested.
The suspect was later handed over to the Chief Vigilante Officer of the Area, Mr. Gbenga Agunbiade aka Soloko for investigation and proper handing over to the police.
