The Business Manager, IKEDC Okota headquarters, Mr. Taofeek Obasanya has assured the Abuna Sanusi community of new poles as soon as both parties are able to meet.

He was reacting to allegation made on the radio by the vice chairman of the community, Alhaji Mike Damola that they were asked to buy new poles at N35,000 each when they reported that the poles might fall anytime because they were infested by termites.

The Chairman, Abuna Sanusi Community Development Association (CDA), Chief Samuel Obende, said the poles have been the major threat in the community, saying the community has tried to contribute but could not meet up with the required amount to replace the poles.

Also speaking on the matter, the CDA Vice Chairman, Alhaji Muka Damola (Islander) said he has been announcing the matter on radio for a longtime now, lamenting that the amount the IKEDC requested from them to get new poles is too high for them to afford.

He also complained about the high bill given to the power consumers in the community.

But Obasanya maintained that the official who asked the community to buy poles should be identified and reported.

He then promised to see to the need of the community, asking them to come directly to his office to discuss the issue.5+91
