ICCI holds 2nd edition of Ikorodu Division Trade Fair

The second edition of the Ikorodu Division Trade Fair commenced on Sunday at the Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH), former LASPOTECH, Ikorodu, Lagos.

The fair, which is being promoted by the Ikorodu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) in collaboration with LASUSTECH with the support of the Lagos State Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Cooperatives, is scheduled to hold between March 26 and April 2, 2023.

Over a hundred exhibitors and thousands of visitors within and outside Ikorodu Division are expected to participate in the 8-day event.

Speaking, the ICCI President, Sir (Engr.) Rasheed Shoderu said the primary objective of the Chamber is to promote commerce, industry, and the economic growth of the Ikorodu Division.

“Our annual trade fair event, the IKODIV Trade Fair, is one of the many ways we demonstrate our commitment to the economic development of our community. This event provides a platform for entrepreneurs and business owners, including macro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) to showcase their products and services, network, and engage in business transactions.

“As an organization, we are convinced that promoting entrepreneurship and providing support to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) is crucial to the economic growth of our Division. This is why we have made it our mission to provide support and guidance to these businesses so that they can compete favorably on the global stage.

“As we embark on this year’s edition of the IKODIV Trade Fair, we are excited about the opportunities it presents to businesses in our environs. We are also optimistic that the event will not only promote the growth of individual businesses but also contribute significantly to the economic development of IkoroduDivision,” Shoderu stated.

He further thanked their sponsors, partners, and exhibitors for their unwavering support towards making this year’s edition of the IKODIV Trade Fair a success. “We are confident that with your continued support, we will achieve even greater success in the coming years,” he added.

In the same vein, the Chairman Ikorodu Trade Fair, Prince Adeseye Adedipe, FCA, expressed optimism that despite the economic situation, in this year’s edition, people would purchase quality items on display as the fair lasts.

“It is an opportunity for people within and outside IkoroduDivision to make brisk businesses and for various sector groups and professionals to present new products and new ideas,” Adedipe added.
