Sensational goal poacher, Peace Ikediuba has established herself as one of the hottest women strikers in women’s football at the grassroots.
The bullish striker says she works hard in training to win highest goal scorer award in any competition she plays in.
After emerging as the highest goal scorer at the Ifeanyi Chiejine Memorial Cup in Asaba, she started the year on a good note as she emerged as the highest goal scorer in the Afusat Olabimpe Gold Cup with six goals in six matches.
Speaking exclusively to Echonews.ng, Prince Kazeem Eletu Queens jewel, Peace Ikediuba feels elated and motivated winning the individual award.
Ikediuba said she always challenge herself to do better than her last game and she achieved the feat of the highest goal scorer with the help of her Coaches and teammates at the club.
“I’m happy, elated and motivated. I’m hoping it won’t be my last and only award for the year, God’s willing,” she told Echonews.ng.
“I’ve always hoped to do better than my last game and I wished to be the top scorer, so yes I emphasised that I want to be the top scorer.
I worked harder in training and with the help of my coaches and team mates, I was able to achieve the goal.”
The Eletu Queens forward dreams of playing in the French league one day and said Chelsea striker, Lauren James is her role model.
“My target is up to God because he owns me but as a human my target is to play bigger team in France.
“My role model is Lauren James, I have her stature and then she plays good football. So I believe, I can do like her by adding to every team I find myself just as she does for the Chelsea team.
