Grace Saliu Ready To Haunt Former Side, Naija Ratels
By Saheed Afolabi
Rivers Angels forward Grace Saliu is relishing the prospect of facing her old club Naija Ratels when the two sides meet on Wednesday at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium.
The in-form striker, who swapped Ratels for Angels ahead of the season, insists she’s fully focused on getting the three points and has no qualms about celebrating if she finds the net.
“It’s a big game for me, but I’m an attacker — my job is to score goals,” Saliu said. “Yes, I’ll celebrate if I score against my former team, but in a respectful, positive way. Football isn’t about emotions; it’s about doing your job.”
The two teams lock horns at 1:00 p.m., with Rivers Angels aiming to repeat their 2-0 victory from the previous encounter.
In five previous meetings, Rivers Angels remain unbeaten against Naija Ratels, recording four wins and one draw, while the Abuja-based side are still searching for their first victory over the Port Harcourt giants.
