The Chairman of the Community Development Committee (CDC) Oshodi/ Isolo Local Govt have urge members and residents of the communities, to be ready for the forthcoming LGA Poll. The Chairman, Mr Alamatu reminded the members of the CDC, of the readiness and commitment of the Lagos State Independence Electoral Commission (LASEC), to strictly follow the Poll’s timetable.
In accordance, Alamatu urge all qualified member to get their Voter’s Cards and those who have not yet registered to go and do so. The Chairman task leaders of the Community Development Association CDA, on the need to comply and return street information forms given to them; back to the CDC for proper documentation.
He said, the success of the coming LGA’s election, will create an avenue for more development, within the LGA. This, he said, will come in the form of road rehabilitations and more infrastructures in the LGA. Adding that, in line with the next quarter’s 114 proposed road constructions, of the State Government Projects, Oshodi / Isolo will not be left out.
Among issues discussed by members at the CDC meeting included, the rejection of N1,000 CDA Levy to be made at the State CDC Advisory Council (1). The issue of prompt and regular CDA yearly renewal payment which should be made at the State level, Local government and CDC respectively were also discussed.
The Head of Department, Agric & Rural Development, Mr Akintola, the representative of the Sole Administrator of Oshodi / Isolo Taiwo Taoheed Adebayo, said the administrator was unavoidable absent. Hinting that, he intended to be at the meeting, but had to be at the Budget Briefing in Alausa, the State Secretariat.
In line with the ‘Keep Lagos Clean’ initiative of the state, Akintola extended the kind gesture of Hon. Taiwo, to everyone present at the event by distributing Refuse Bins and Cellophane Bags to all the CDAs of Oshodi.
In the cause of the event, medical checkup was organized by the Neolife International Company. Speaking during the health talk, Mr Alhaji Shittu advised members, on the need to take food supplements as protection from chronic diseases.
Mr Titilope Yusuff, another medical personnel present at the event, also gave reasons on the causes of Diabetes and other chronic diseases, a result of much carbohydrate food intake. Free Electronic Health Check-up was done, for interested members at the meeting.
Hon. S Ade Marcarthy welcome the newly created Araromi Onikewunla Community Development Association members to the CDC floor and gave them the mode of operations of the committee. The CDA’s three principal members present were, the Chairman Engineer Olurotimi Okunade, Secretary Alhaja Femi Damola and Treasurer Mr. John Adeyemi.
