Prince Kazeem Eletu Queens emerged champions of the maiden edition of the Fausat Balogun Memorial Cup by defeating Nakamura FA 2-0 in the final.
Goals from Faith Jaiyeola and Bukola Akintante secured the trophy for the Ikorodu based side.
The first half was a bumpy one as both sides were equal to their prowess and gave each other a good fight.
Both teams saw few chances came their way in the first half but they couldn’t take their chances.
The second half saw the pressure from Eletu Queens materialized as Nakamura FA player handled the ball with her hand in the 18 yard box and this resulted in the player been giving her matching orders and a penalty for Eletu Queens.
Faith Jaiyeola sends the resulting penalty into the roof of the net to give Eletu Queens the lead in the 47th minute.
The numerical advantage of Eletu Queens gave them the edge in dictating possession in the match and it gave midfielder Bukola Akintante the ability to score the second goal from the edge of the penalty box and this gave Eletu Queens a two goal lead in the encounter.
Nakamura FA showed some threatened Eletu Queens at the tail end of the encounter despite playing with less players on the pitch.
Eletu Queens won the game 2-0 to win the maiden edition of the Fausat Balogun Memorial Cup.
