Chairmanship aspirant for the Ejigbo Local Council Development Area on the platform of All Progressives Congress, Mr. Peter Ajayi at the weekend disputed reports by ECHONEWS that he has been disqualified from the primaries by the Babatunde Ogala –led screening committee.
However, a report of a conversation between him and the Secretary to Ejigbo LCDA, Paul Fregene stated that he confessed that he could not produce his Permanent Voter’s Card before the committee.
Facts available to ECHONEWS are that the resolution of the committee members to disqualify Ajayi was overruled by its chairman, Mr. Babatunde Ogala, SAN who gave Ajayi up to Monday May 17 ( this morning) to submit the originals of his credentials.
Sources close to the committee said the credentials include his birth certificate, certificates of his academic qualifications and his Permanent Voters Card.
Ajayi is the sole challenger of the incumbent, Hon. Monsuru Bello Obe.
When Obe appeared before the committee at 11.30 am on Saturday, May 15, 2021, he was asked to simply take a bow and leave.
The committee had screened his achievements and found them okay.
