Court Docks Woman For Aiding Teenage Prostitution

A woman, Bisola Kehinde, has been remanded at a correctional centre for involving teenage girls into inappropriate sexual act and prostitution.

Kehinde, 42, was arraigned at the Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court by the police having been charged with conspiracy to wit: engaging teenagers in sexual prostitution.

The Police through the prosecutor, ASP Aminu Isaac, uttered that Kehinde commited the offence on June 23 at 19, Oba Omolaja Street, Igbogbo area in Ikorodu.

Isaac submitted that the suspect involved the underage girls into sexual activity with different men and collected the proceeds. The prosecutor also alleged that she manipulated one of the girls to accuse her father of sexually molesting her, and told her that she will fund her trip to Libya to make money from prostitution.

He also disclosed that the girl accused her father which resulted to him being remanded at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre.

According to him, the offence contravenes the provisions of Section 411, 412 and 265 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015

Magistrate Olagbegi-Adelabu jettisoned the plea of the defendant. She called for a re-arraignment on August 8 for legal advice from the office of the Lagos State Director of Public Prosecutions.

Echonews garnered that the defendant is liable to be sentenced to seven or up to 14 years in prison if found guilty of the offence.
