The Lagos High Court has objected a suit instituted by Nigeria social celebrity, Blessing Okoro, against the Police and one Folashade Samuel, claiming her prosecution trampled on her fundermental human rights.
The complainant had claimed that her arrest and detention was against the provision of the law as regards the protection of her rights, seeking for a perpetual order restraining the police from tampering with her freedom.
But trial judge, Justice Lewis Allagoa in his judgment declined all her pleas holding that it was cogent the police acted on the premises of a criminal complaint lodged against her.
The judge added that the police acted within an established law to invite, cause to arrest and detained her.
The court noted that there was no evidence that the petition against her, which the police acted upon was written in bad faith or that it was fabricated.
Her application for the enforcement of fundamental human rights was subsequently dismissed by the court.
