The seven councillors of Isolo Local Council Development Area (LCDA) have showered praises on the council boss, Otunba Adebayo Olasoju over the swift commencement of developmental projects in the council area.

The councillors, speaking through their leader, Hon. Akeem Adeyemi (Alarape) gave the commendation during an inspection exercise carried out on the ongoing road rehabilitation projects in Alagbeji Ward.

Olasoju has awarded six roads to contractors in Akinbaiye and Alagbeji Ward.

The contractors have commenced work on two of the roads – Mureni and Aderinto Streets.

Speaking about the development, Adeyemi noted that the oversight exercise was to confirm the veracity of the ongoing project and also the quality of the jobs, saying they were intimated about them while on recess.

He commended the council boss for putting earned efforts towards delivering his campaign promises promising that the house will not hesitate to give him needed legislative support when necessary.

He remarked that the councillors will soon cast their votes of confidence in the council boss to further substantiate their support.

His words: “We’ve come to perform our oversight function as expected and we can say that these projects are marvellous, what’s left on both roads; Mureni and Aderinto are just asphalting and that’s quite impressive. The drainages have been improved on and that tells more about the quality of the job because if the drainages are left unfixed the surface of the road will suffer degradation sooner than ever anticipated from flood spilling onto it. The host councillor, Hon. Olanrewaju Kayode and every one of us are impressed with what we’ve observed.

“The house will soon pass our votes of confidence on the executive chairman because it is clear to all that he’s putting earnest effort towards delivering on his numerous campaign promises especially the ones about his first 100 days. We’ve pledged also to be cooperative and be part of the progress. Wherever the chairman thinks the legislative arm could be of help, we shall not hesitate to throw our weight behind him. We have vowed not to be a spanner in the wheel of the council’s progress and that will remain our watchword.”

The councillors were coincidentally joined in the exercise by stakeholders of Alagbeji ward including the Chairman of Alagbeji CDA, Alhaji Yemi Sogunle and a community leader, Hon. Abiodun Adegboyega.

Sogunle commended the councillors for carrying out quality check on the project, stating that the community leaders will ensure that residents cooperate with the contractors working on the projects and take ownership of them when completed.
