The Chairman, who was represented by the Supervisor for Civic Engagement, Hon. Sikiru Rahmon and the Special Adviser on Works, Hon. Ashiru Waheed, during the inspection of the ongoing projects, said that the council is committed to the service of the people.

She said she has gradually given a progressive approach to the provisions of social and infrastructural development, regular environmental sanitation, healthcare services, maintenance of peace and adequate security of lives and properties.

“The rehabilitation of these drains will maintain the surface of the road and its foundation as dry as possible with water and also maintain the stability and durability of the road and then attract more developments in the area.

“This is necessary due to the deplorable state of these drainages to reduce the risk of flooding during this rainy period as well as to make the drainage system useful. It would open up the drainage system to ensure a free flow of water and protect major roads in the community,” she said.
