The residents of Omiyale End have criticised the ‘Crazy bills’ received monthly from the Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (IKEDC) as excessive.
According to them, some of the houses were getting more than N10,000 every month and that they were always disconnected if they failed to pay on time.
However, the community has called on the government to intervene by ordering the company to meter them in order to be appropriately billed.
The First Vice Chairman of the Community Development Association (CDA), Elder Olusegun Abe said the government needed to intervene to curb the conflict that might ensue between the company and the community.
He also used the opportunity to seek the attention of both local and state governments on the terrible situation of the roads in the community, saying the challenge has become unbearable especially as the rains are falling
